How can you help?

I am so glad that you asked! We really want everyone to be involved, everyone who wants to be. First of all, we need your prayers. Pray for Joshua that he would be safe and that his needs are being met. Pray that God would be preparing Joshua's heart for this big change when he comes home. Please pray for us, for the heartache of waiting, for the preparing of our home and our hearts. Pray for our adjustment to a new member of the family, especially for Freddie and Valerie. Pray for bonding and attachment to happen quickly.

Secondly, please pray about and consider how you can help us with the financial obstacle of adoption. As many of you are aware, there are many expenses associated with an adoption. If we waited until we had every penny saved, it would be too late for Joshua. We have felt God leading us in this direction and we are confident and trusting in Him that He will supply our needs (Philippians 3:19). Our needs are great, but God is greater! Might you be willing to be used by God to bless our family and help bring an orphan home?

Did you know that your giving to Joshua's fund through Reece's Rainbow is tax deductible? It is! You can click on the link to the right of the page, where you can give a tax-deductible gift that goes into a special account for Joshua. This money will be released to us when it is time to travel, to help with traveling expenses and country fees.

Thank you to all who are embarking on this journey with us! We love you and we praise God for you and the love and friendship that you have shown to our family. May you be greatly blessed!

A Little Bit About Joshua

I promised that I would share a little more about the child we are in the process of adopting. Just a couple of weeks ago we announced to Freddie and Valerie that they were going to be getting a little brother! Freddie is so excited about having a little brother. He is already making plans for teaching him how to do his favorite things like swing, catch frogs, and play games on the computer. :) Valerie likes to look at his picture and say, "Joshua! Joshua!" Joshua will be three-years-old in April. He is currently living in an orphanage in an Eastern European Country. (I am not allowed to post on a public forum in which country he is living.) Because of a medical condition that Joshua has, if he is not adopted by the age of 4, he will be transferred to a mental institute, which is pretty much a death sentence. However, with the love of our family, proper medical attention and nutrition, Joshua will have every opportunity to thrive and have a normal life. We are honored to be Joshua's forever family!

Me, A Blogger??

Yes! And I have no idea how to begin, so I hope that anyone who reads this will be patient with me as I try to figure all this out. :) So, why am I doing this? (So glad that you asked!) We are so excited and thrilled to announce that we are growing our family through another adoption!!! We want to invite our family and friends and anyone who is interested, to follow along with our journey to add to our family! We would love for you to be involved with us on this adventure. We certainly need your love, your prayers and your support, both emotionally and financially.

Where are we in the adoption process? We are currently working hard toward getting our home study finished and approved, that is the first step. So we have quite a ways to go still, but we are optimistic that things will move along quickly. We have already identified a child that we are over the moon for, and can hardly wait to get this little one home! I will share more about this precious one sometime soon.
